2011 MTV Movie Awards
Since MTV always has the best award shows, I knew this one was going to be great. But I didn’t know how they were going to top last year’s show..Well, I think they did it.
First, they had the greatest movie premieres. Captain America, Super 8, Harry Potter, and Twilight.
Personally, I didn’t think Captain America looked that great. It’s just not my kind of movie.
Super 8, though, looks pretty good. The movie trailers don’t give away much, they leave you in suspense, so I think that’s part of the reason why people want to see it so much. You just want to see what is causing all the havoc in the small town. At the Movie Awards, there was an extended clip that was shown, and it gave away a little more to what was happening. What I understand is that these kids were shooting a homemade movie by train tracks, and as they were doing a scene, the train was going by. All of a sudden the train hit a car, crashed, and something escaped from one of the train cars. The whole time the camera was rolling, so I imagine they caught whatever it was on tape. For the rest of the clip, it showed different strange things happening around the town, and the people trying to find out what’s going on.
Next is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. I’ve seen all of the Harry Potter films except Deathly Hallows Part 1, so I wouldn’t mind seeing this movie. I haven’t read the Harry Potter books, so I don’t know what’s going to happen in the last movie. What I got from the trailer was that the movie is centered around Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. I’m just going to guess and say that one of them dies at the end, because Lord Voldemort says “Only I can live forever.” Maybe I missed something from the last movie, so I don’t get it. But, overall, I would go to see this movie.
Now for my favorite out of the bunch; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. I have read all of the Twilight books, and seen all of the movies. Obviously I’m a huge fan. I got SO excited when I heard that there was going to be a clip of the newest Twilight movie showing at the Movie Awards. It shows multiple people receiving Bella and Edward’s wedding invitation. Starting with Jacob Black; he became upset and angry, running out of his house, phasing from human to wolf. Jacob’s dad finds the invitation on the ground, reading it, he looks disappointed. Both Jacob and his dad know what the wedding means, and that their treaty between the Cullens will soon be broken. There was a quick shot of Charlie, Bella’s dad, holding the invitation. Next, it switched to part of the Volturi getting an invitation, which I don’t remember that happening in the book. Bella and Edward’s wedding was shown. It was outside, unlike in the book, but still beautiful. Edward was shown in his tux, then Bella, but just her face. That’s too bad, because I wanted to see her dress. Then, their honeymoon. A couple select images of Bella and Edward together were shown, then, the most shocking part of the clip; Bella. Pregnant. Bella was looking at herself in a mirror, she lifted up her shirt, exposing her stomach, and there was a small bump.
I’m extremely excited for the movie to come out! The Twilight Saga is my favorite book series, and favorite movie series. Breaking Dawn is without a doubt the most shocking book out of the series, and I’m thrilled to see how the movie is going to turn out. This is a movie that I will definitely be seeing in theaters.
The awards were mainly ruled by Harry Potter and Twilight. Reese Witherspoon was given the Generation Award. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won Best Kiss as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The crowd was expecting Kristen and Rob to kiss, but instead Pattinson went into the crowd, grabbing Taylor Lautner, and kissing him. That was definitely unexpected.
Those were pretty much the main events(to me). It makes me wonder; How are they going to top this one?
